Now chair of the Nutrition Department at Simmons College, Dr. Mk has been teaching graduate and undergraduate nutrition courses for 19+ years. She has conducted extensive research for the Women, Infants, and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program where she developed a food insecurity screening tool, and worked as a nutrition project manager at the Massachusetts Department of Health. Dr. MK completed doctorate and dietetic internship at University of California, Davis.
Heather Harrison Catledge is the State Nutritionist at WIC, the Women, Infants, and Children Food and Nutrition Services. Ms. Catledge graduated from Simmons College in '94, but began working at WIC a year before that, and is still as passionate as she was the day she began. She has dedicated her career to ensuring women and children receive the needed economic support, resources, and education to achieve adequate nutrition and meet their nutrition needs.
Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor of Nutrition who became the director of the Simmons Dietetic Internship after serving as the internship coordinator from 2009-2015. After earning her bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology and American government from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, Dr. Brown earned her master’s degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion from Simmons, and her doctorate in Medical Nutrition Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Brown specializes in pediatric and geriatric nutrition, and has worked in many settings such as WIC, Framingham's YMCA, and more.
Kathy Cunningham is a snap-ed multi-level specialist. After graduating from Simmons, she completed her dietetic internship and became a registered dietitian in the state of Massachusetts. She works with UMass Extension Nutrition Education program, and helps spread the word about SNAP-Ed and connect resources within communities, to help make its people healthier. Ms. Cunningham believes firmly in the mission that SNAP follows, and works to see a hunger-free Massachusetts.
