My name is Gisela Alvarez, I am a Senior at Simmons College, pursuing a double major in Nutrition and Dietetics and Communications, track Journalism. After graduating in May 2018, I will be completing my dietetic internship at Larkin Community Hospital in Miami, FL. I strive to become a registered dietitian who works with eating disorder populations, while simultaneously does outreach to poor communities.

 For my Advanced Applications in Community Nutrition (NUTR 381) class I worked closely with Erica Moura from the Simmons College Radio "The Shark," to create a nutrition intervention, which ended up becoming this podcast series, "Something to Chew On." This podcast seeks to educate college students on the complexities of food security and insecurity, given the lack of nutrition-focused radio shows hosted at Simmons College.
